Frank C. Ferguson, Jr., 76, of rural Coffeyville passed away Sunday, November 18, 2007, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Mr. Ferguson was born on June 26, 1931 to Frank C. Ferguson, Sr. and Hazel (Thompson) Ferguson in Coffeyville. He grew up in the Coffeyville area and attended Parker School and Coffeyville schools.
On June 29, 1957 he married Delores LaVae Kimbrel at Miami, Oklahoma. Following their marriage the lived in Coffeyville for a short time before moving to Kansas City, Kansas, where they farmed for nine years. In 1968 Frank and LaVae purchased their home and farm southwest of Dearing where he farmed and was employed by the Montgomery County Maintenance Department.
Frank loved his Family, God, and horses. He was a member of the First Church of God in Coffeyville and a volunteer for Heartland Shares. He had a great sense of humor, which many of you already know about, and was known for it.
Frank is survived by his wife, LaVae of the home; one daughter, Susan and Doug Randall of rural Coffeyville, Kansas; one son; Clifford and Janet Ferguson of Salina, Kansas; one brother, Charles "Tuck" Ferguson of Tyro, Kansas; four sisters, Velma Pippin of Coffeyville, Kansas, Martha Runyon of Tyro, Kansas, Virginia "Denny" Stout of Independence, Kansas, and Karen Johnson of Independence, Kansas; and four grandchildren, Darla Stults of Thornton, Colorado, Ashley Ferguson of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Brandi Ferguson of Wichita, Kansas, and Courtney Ferguson of Las Vegas, New Mexico..
Mr. Ferguson has been preceded in death by his parents; and four sisters, Ina Allen, Mary Lou Douglas, Patty Urwin, and Freda Mae Mullins.
Services will be held at the First Church of God, located at 5th and Cline Streets in Coffeyville on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Coffeyville.
Friends may call on Friday, November 23, 2007 from 9:00 a.m until 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home at 306 North Cline Road in Coffeyville. Mr. Ferguson's Family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
