Larry Lynn, age 56, of rural Sedan, passed away Sunday November 18, 2007 at Sedan City Hospital in Sedan, Kansas.
Larry was born October 3, 1951 in Ottawa, Kansas to Earl W. Lynn, Jr. and Juanita (Johnson) Lynn. He lived in Ottawa most of his life and attended and graduated from Ottawa High School. He married Theresa "Terry" Hammond on January 3, 1972 in Miami, Oklahoma. He was currently living in rural Sedan, moving here in 2000.
He started the Mat-masters kids wrestling team in Ottawa, where he coached for sixteen years. He was a rancher who worked for many local people in the Chautauqua County area, such as Delbert Jarboe, Bill House, Ron Odett, Ronnie Rogers, Dave Monroe and Ray White.
He was a bullrider and loved to rodeo. He also enjoyed being in the outdoors, working with livestock, his dogs and working with leather. He loved most of all his family, grandkids and helping other people. He was very active in many other things and always stayed busy.
He is survived by his wife Terry Lynn; two sons, Justin Lynn of El Reno, Oklahoma and Jerry Lynn of Colby, Kansas; one sister, Kay White and her husband Ray of rural Sedan, Kansas; four grandchildren, Braiden Lynn, Brodee Lynn, Brayclen Lynn and Brielle Lynn; one niece, Melissa Pappan; one nephew, Jerod Ward and two great-niece, Madison Myers and Adley Pappan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Juanita Lynn.
Friends may call on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan with the family receiving friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at the Belknap Community Church in Belknap, Kansas with Clint Sinclair officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m., at the Mt. Hope Cemetery located east of Williamsburg, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions to the Larry Lynn Memorial Fund and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
