Djwanna Gailene Alston, 76, of Coffeyville, passed away Monday, November 25, 2013 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas.
She was born June 20, 1937 in Severy, Kansas to Charles and Ila (Wills) Leathurburry. She attended school in Severy, Kansas.
In September of 1988, she married Jimmy D. Alston. They made their home in Coffeyville where Djwanna worked several jobs before working as a clerk/cashier at a hotel in Coffeyville until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy D. Alston on May 23, 2011.
Survivors include two sons; Sterling Shinn of Louisiana and Carl Shinn of Illinois; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and three sisters.
Mrs. Alston's wishes were for cremation to take place and no services to be conducted at this time.
