Jimmy T. Wooten, 75, of Coffeyville passed away Friday, November 7, 2008 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.
He was born November 12, 1932 at Hominy, OK to William Robert and Blanche Grace (Dunn) Wooten. He grew up and attended school in the Chelsea, OK and Claremore, OK area.
On April 14, 1951 he married Frances Miller at Sequoyah, OK. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville where Jim was employed at Acme Foundry as a shell core filer. He retired from Acme in May of 2006 after 55 years of service.
He was a member of the Lewark Street Church of God in God in Coffeyville. When he wasn't working he enjoyed time spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Frances of the home; one son, J.D. Wooten of Bartlesville, OK; five daughters, Marilyn Means of Edna, Sherry Hall of Murphy, N.C., Lois Hull of Coffeyville, Sandy Sliva of Independence, and Marla Moses of Coffeyville; two brothers, Kenneth Wooten of Lake Jackson, TX, and Lowell Wayne Wooten of Mound Valley; nine sisters, Mabel Williams of Claremore, OK, Wanda Bryant of Coffeyville, Willetta Cutsinger of Perry, OK, Alice Gottschalk of Perry, OK, Betty King of Roeland Park, KS. Mary Nielsen of Coffeyville, Linda Fowler of Coffeyville, Carolyn Gray of Coffeyville, and Loretta Myers of Bartlesville, OK; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Robert "June", Shirley, Olen "Red", and Billy Darryl; and one great granddaughter, Lauren Phillips.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Lewark Street Church of God with Pastor Josh Thayer and Pastor J.D. Wright officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Washington Cemetery near Claremore, OK.
Friends may call on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
