Obituary of Adam Dwight Dykes

Sedan - Adam Dwight Dykes, age 19, of rural Longton, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 6, 2008 at the Via Christi Saint Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He was born January 17, 1989 in Wichita, Kansas to Dwight and Vickie (Lechner) Dykes. He grew up and attended school in Sedan, graduating from Sedan High School in 2008. He attended Coffeyville Community College on a football scholarship. He was very active in all sports in Junior High and in High School. He was Vice President of the class of 2008. He enjoyed football, hanging out with friends, hunting, and fishing. He is survived by his parents, E. Dwight and Vickie Dykes of the home in rural Longton, Kansas; two sisters, Laura Dykes of Green Mountain Falls, Colorado and his twin sister Mary Ann Dykes of Wichita, Kansas; one brother Jacob Dykes of Longton, Kansas; Maternal Grandmother, Mary Lou Lechner of Leola, South Dakota; Paternal Grandparents, Glenda and Elmer Dykes of Sedan, Kansas; Maternal Great-Grandmother Fern Kline of Aberdeen South Dakota; several aunts and uncles and cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by several grandparents. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, November 10, 2008 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan with Reverend Kevin Fogerty of the Chautauqua Southern Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, Kansas.
