Obituary of Robert L. Walker

Sedan - Robert L. Walker, Sr., age 61, of Sedan, Kansas passed away Monday evening, October 27, 2008 at his residence in Sedan, Kansas. He was born January 14, 1947 in Sedan, Kansas to Fred and Josie (Deboard) Walker. He grew up and attended school in Sedan. He married Janice Marie Carra on April 15, 1969 in Sedan, Kansas. She preceded him in death on February 16, 2006. He worked for the City of Sedan for twenty-eight years, retiring in 1999. He was also a volunteer firefighter. He is survived by three sons, Robert Walker, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Longton, Kansas, Randy Walker and wife Mitzi and Jeff Walker all of Sedan, Kansas; one daughter, Debbie Riley of Sedan, Kansas; four sisters, Dorothy Kerr, of Sedan Kansas, Janette Tomlin of Kansas, Linda Thompson of Arkansas City, Kansas and Reva Ullum of Sedan, Kansas; four brothers, Eugene "Shotgun" Walker and Carl Walker, both of Sedan, Kansas, Jerry Walker of Cedar Vale, Kansas and Leo Walker of Peru, Kansas; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Janice Marie Walker, one sister, and one brother. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, Kansas with Reverend Paul Stetz of the First Assembly of God Church officiating.
