Coffeyville -
Ethelene Morris, age 80, of Coffeyville passed away Wednesday morning at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
She was born on November 8, 1927 to Walter Palmer and Addie Fredonia Hart in St. Louis , Missouri . She went to grade school at Bartlett and graduated from FKHS in 1945. She married Carl Franklin Morris on March 3, 1946 in Coffeyville where they made their home until they moved to Parsons in 1974. In 1990, she moved back to Coffeyville after her husband passed away on September 30, 1989. She worked for various families as a caregiver and later for the Montgomery County Health Department before retiring in 2000.
Ethelene was a member of Holy Name Cahtolic Church and past member of the Parsons Iris Society. She loved to garden and watch her grandchildren play sports in Coffeyville.
Survivors include one son, Derrick and Alice Morris of Coffeyville; four grandsons, Zachary Alan, wife Nikki Morris and great-grandson Dylan Morris, Kyle Ezekiel and wife Michelle Morris, Lance Kristofer, fiance Erin and great-grandson Devin, and Nathan Andrew Morris; and special family members, Dale "Buck" Granning, Michael and Melissa Granning, Michael and Pat Frozzitta, and Darrel and Annette Harbaugh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Franklin Morris on September 30, 1989.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church ( 408 Willow St. ) on Saturday, October 25 at 10:00am with Fr. Ben Nguyen officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville.
Friends may call on Friday, October 24 between 9:00am and 9:00pm at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
