Coffeyville - Reta Jeanita Holt, 86, of Vinita, Oklahoma formerly of Coffeyville and Tulsa, passed away Sunday morning, October 5, 2008 at Rosewood Terrace in Vinita. She was born March 1, 1922 in Douglas County, Missouri to William E. and Allie (McGowen) Holt. She attended school in Mountain Grove, Missouri. Reta lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma and worked for P.C. Lauinger at Pennwell Publishing Company. After 40 years with Pennwell Ms. Holt retired to Grand Lake, Oklahoma. In 1991, Reta moved to Coffeyville and was caregiver to her mother Allie Holt. Reta moved to Vinita 1 years ago to near her sister Bernita Ranes and her husband Lloyd J. Ranes. Reta is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Bernita and Lloyd J. "Bud" Ranes of Grand Lake Town, Oklahoma; a sister-in-law; Thelma Holt of Afton, Oklahoma; a niece Kathy Hoffman and Family of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two nephews, Mark Holt and Family of Houston, Texas, and Charles Lee Bittick and family of Florida; a great nephew, Gerald Lee Holt, Jr. and Family of rural South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; and great-niece, Anita Holt and Family of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Juanita Bittick, one brother, Marcus Lee Holt, a nephew, Gerald Lee "Jerry" Holt and his wife Carolyn. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008 in the Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville with Reverend Jim Bradford and Reverend Dianna Bradford officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday until 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville is in charge of arrangements.
