Michael D. "Mike" White, 35, of Coffeyville, passed away Friday, September 26, 2008 in Alva, Oklahoma.
He was born June 2, 1973 at Coffeyville to David D. and Emma J. (McFall) White. He grew up in the Dearing area attending Dearing Elementary School. He graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1991. Following high school he attended SEK Vo-Tech in Coffeyville completing the Electrical program in 1992.
On April 22, 1995 he married Becki Logan in Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville where he was employed by Logan and Company where he was currently Electrical Supervisor.
Mike was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville where he served on the building committee. He was a member of the International Association of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local #226, NRA, and the American Quarter Horse Assoc. Mike enjoyed roping, fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling, restoring and working on cars, and attending cowboy swap shows.
Survivors include his wife, Becki of the home; one son, Bradley of the home; one daughter, Emmalee of the home; his father and mother, David and Pamela K. (Long) White of South Coffeyville, OK; two sisters, Lisa Kay White of Weatherford, OK, and Brandie Woody of South Coffeyville, OK; his maternal grandmother, Alameda McFall of Coffeyville; his paternal grandparents, Marvin and Rose Mary Long of Coffeyville; and nephew, Brody Woody of South Coffeyville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma J. White; his maternal grandfather, Bill H. McFall; and paternal grandparents, William Orville "Chub" and Mary White.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville with Dr. Wayne Norton officiating. Burial will be in the Jefferson Cemetery northwest of Coffeyville.
Friends may call on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to an education fund being established for his children at Community State Bank in Coffeyville; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
