Ron J. Anderson, age 63, of Havana, Kansas passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at his residence in Havana.
He was born March 18, 1945 in San Francisco, California to Leonard and Agnes (Vaughn) Anderson. He graduated from Carlmont High School in Belmont, California. He later attended the College of San Mateo in San Mateo, California. He married Laura Bruce on May 17, 1986 in Redwood City, California. He worked as an airplane mechanic for Cessna Aircraft Company and was also a former fireman in San Mateo, California.
He lived in Washington State and California and moved to Alaska, living there from 1998 to 2006. After that, he moved to rural Havana, where he resided until his death.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Caney, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife Laura Anderson of the home in rural Havana, Kansas; one son, Thomas James Anderson of San Mateo, California; two daughters, Lisa Marie Anderson of Maryland and Carolyn Lenore Cooney and her husband John of Oxford, Kansas and one granddaughter, Jessie Rose Cooney of Oxford, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The casket will be closed and friends may sign the register book from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas. Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m., to service time, Monday, September 22, 2008 at the First Christian Church of Caney.
Church Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 22, 2008 at the First Christian Church in Caney with Pastor Brad Sanders officiating. A Memorial Service will be held later this year in Alaska.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Cancer Care Associates of Bartlesville or the First Christian Church of Caney and those remembrances can be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361
