Obituary of Lillie Marie Ledbetter

Sedan - Lillie Ledbetter, age 81, of Pineville, Louisiana, went to be with her Lord on September 9, 2008 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. Lillie was born in Niotaze, Kansas on September 16, 1926 to Oney and Flora Wilson. She attended grade school in Niotaze and graduated from Peru High School. In Tulsa, she worked for Southwestern Bell as a switchboard operator. She married Kenneth Ledbetter November 15, 1947. They moved to Pineville, Louisiana with the Dresser Industries in 1961. Lillie worked for Dresser Industries from 1968 to 1991 when she retired due to her health. They attended West Tulsa Church of the Nazarene from 1950 through 1961 when they moved to Pineville, Louisiana and then attended the Pineville Church of the Nazarene. Lillie loved children and her greatest joy was working with children. She taught children's Sunday School and was the Children's Director for many years until her health would no longer permit it. She was an encourager and always saw the good in others. She let her "light" shine wherever she went. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, Oney and Flora Wilson and one sister, Virginia Kennison. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Kenneth and daughter Jana Ledbetter of Pineville, Louisiana; son, Charles "Eddie" Ledbetter; sisters, Mary McFarland of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Dorothy and husband Jim Rinck of Niotaze, Kansas, Geraldine "Jerre" Jay of Copan, Oklahoma, Betty Smith of Niotaze, Kansas; foster brother, George Hoard and wife Nita of Maypearl, Texas; brother-in-law Harold Ledbetter and wife Wanda of Owasso, Oklahoma; one grandson, Luis Harold Ledbetter of Palm Beach, Florida and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank Dr. Howard Wold and Kelly White of the Hematology, Oncology Life Center as well as all the staff for the care they have given Lillie in the past twenty-two years. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Fairview Cemetery in Niotaze, Kansas with Pastor John Rabo of Pineville, Louisiana officiating.
