Richard Frye
Richard Wayne Frye, Sr., 56, of South Coffeyville, OK, passed away Sunday morning August 3, 2008, at his home.
He was born June 27, 1952 in Coffeyville to Elbert Wesley and Billie Jo (Bruce) Frye. He grew up in Coffeyville where he attended school graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1970.
On December 4, 1992, he married Jan Hales at Miami, Oklahoma. Following their marriage they made their home in South Coffeyville. Richard was a machinist at Funk Mfg-John Deere until retiring due to ill health.
Mr. Frye was a member of the First Baptist Church in South Coffeyville.
Since the age of 12 he was musician, playing in country and western bands in the Coffeyville area.
Survivors include his wife, Jan of the home; three sons, James Frye of Pittsburg, Eric Frye and wife Ashley of South Coffeyville, and Richard Frye, Jr. of Konawa, OK; two daughters, Melissa Frye of the home, and April Zillifro and husband Michael of Cherryvale; his mother, Billie Jo Fox of Coffeyville; one brother, Lex Fox of Springfield, MO; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Jeannine Hales of South Coffeyville; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, one daughter, Dana Frye; and one brother Larry Frye.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2008 in the First Baptist Church in South Coffeyville, OK, with Rev. Jonathan Filson and Rev. Lex Fox officiating. Burial will be Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
