Stanley Paul James, 71, of Tyro, passed away Saturday morning, July 26, 2008, at his home.
He was born February 16, 1937 at rural Wann, Oklahoma to Paul and Emma (Durst) James. He grew up in the Tyro area attending school at Tyro and Wayside, Kansas.
On September 23, 1956 he married Peggy Groff at Dearing, KS. Following their marriage they made their home in Tyro where Stanley was a mechanic.
He was a member of the Tyro Christian Church in Tyro.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy of the home; one daughter, Lisa Ritz of Walnut Grove, Missouri; four sons, Stanley Paul "Butch" James, Jr. of rural Independence, Tim James of Independence, Heath James of Caney, and Nick James of Coffeyville; one sister, Beulah King of Raymondville, Missouri; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Cecil Hayden.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008 in the Tyro Christian Church with David Bycroft officiating. Burial will be in Fawn Creek Cemetery northeast of Tyro.
Friends may call on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
