Cash C. McDonald, 82 of Liberty, KS, passed away Thursday (July 24) at his home.
He was born on February 6, 1926 to Clifford and the Lela (Childers) McDonald in Woodward, Oklahoma. He attended school in Woodward and Mooreland and after graduating went to serve in the Navy during WWII.
In June of 1949, Cash married Dora Ayers at Woodward. Together they raised four daughters. They were later divorced.
In December of 1990, Cash was married to Wanda Smith-Garman at Independence.
Cash and Wanda were members of the First Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville.
Mr. McDonald was a machinist at Funk Manufacturing in Coffeyville and loved to farm in the Coffeyville/Liberty area.
Cash is survived by his wife, Wanda of the home; four daughters, Cathy Swaim and Janet Rogers, both of Tulsa, OK, Kay Ray of Kansas City, MO, Tammi Humphrey of Claremore, OK; two step-sons, Norman and Lonnie Garman, both of Independence, KS; one step-daughter, Connie Chapman of Caney, KS; one sister, Moeta Newman of De Kalb, TX; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. Mr. McDonald has been preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
A graveside service will be held Monday, July 28 at 2:00 pm at Robbins Cemetery, West of Coffeyville with Dr. Wayne Norton officiating.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Monday 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family will receive friends between 7:00 and 8:30 on Sunday evening.
Cash's family suggests that donations in his memory be given to the Kansas Braille Transcription Institute. Contributions may be left with the funeral directors or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Rd, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
