Nellie May Oneslager, 89, of Coffeyville formerly of South Coffeyville, OK passed away Sunday morning, July 20, 2008 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.
She was born May 23, 1919 in Nowata County, Oklahoma to William Oscar and Pearl (Smith) McClure. She grew up and attended school in Nowata County southwest of South Coffeyville.
On May 18, 1940 she married Marvin Dwight Oneslager in Webb City, Missouri. Following their marriage they made their home in South Coffeyville and Coffeyville, except during WW II when they lived near New Orleans, LA where Marvin was stationed in the U.S. Army. Mr. Oneslager preceded her in death on April 10, 2008.
Survivors include two sons, Allen Oneslager of South Coffeyville, OK; and Dwayne and wife Geraldine Oneslager of Coffeyville; two brothers, Bill McClure of Coffeyville, and Kenneth McClure of South Coffeyville, OK; three sisters, Beulah Wisely of Coffeyville, Maxine Wilson of South Coffeyville, OK, and Jean Howard of Coffeyville; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2008 in the North Edna Cemetery at Edna, KS with Pastor Gary Stevens of Amazing Grace Chapel officiating.
Friends may call on Monday, July 21, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family suggests memorials in Nellie's memory be made to Amazing Grace Chapel; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337
