Obituary of Billy Moore

Sedan - Billy Lee Moore, 77, of Fort Worth Texas, formerly of Sedan, passed away Thursday night in Fort Worth. He was born February 20, 1931 at Enid, Oklahoma to Everett Earl and Thelma Del (Bailey) Moore. When he was young the family moved to Sedan, where he grew up and attended school graduating from Sedan High School. Following high school he attended community college before joining the U.S. Air Force. On November 27, 1952 he married Colleen Erma Swango at Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Following their marriage they made their home at several different Air Force Bases where Billy was stationed. Following his retirement from the U.S. Air Force they made their home in Fort Worth where he worked as an aviation mechanic until his retirement. Mrs. Moore preceded him in death in 1999. After his wife passed away he returned to Sedan where he lived until returning to Fort Worth in June 2008 to be closer to his family. Billy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sedan. Survivors include two sons, James Moore of Forth Worth, TX, and John Moore of Denver, CO; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2008 in the Greenwood Cemetery at Sedan, with Dr. J. Dean McNamara officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Air Force. Friends may call on Monday, July 21, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan. David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan is in charge of arrangements.
