Gloria Joan Hodges, age 80, passed away Friday June 20, 2014 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma (former resident of Coffeyville).
She was born February 22, 1934 to Bert A. and Nila G. (Moveyhill) Shamblin in Miami, Oklahoma.
On March 25, 1950 she married Francis L. Hodges and they made their home in Coffeyville for a number of years. Her husband was a minister in several communities. Gloria was a care provider for many elderly people in the communities she lived in. She moved to Kingfisher, Oklahoma and lived there for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 11, 1991.
Gloria was a member of the Church of God and loved to play bingo.
She is survived by one son Thomas Hodges and wife Frances of Stanton, Texas; three daughters, Sue Ann Hodges of Big Spring, Texas, Terrie Lynn Lewis and husband Allen of Vinita, Oklahoma, and Mary Joan Bolton and husband Jimmy of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Francis L. Hodges, one brother, Thomas Shamblin, her sister, Linda Sue West and her parents.
Church services will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Southview Church of God in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma with Reverend John Lockaby and Larry West officiating. Burial will follow at the Robbins Cemetery West of Coffeyville, Kansas.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 23, 2014 at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, KS from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
