Obituary of Nella E. Stafford

Sedan - Nella Ellen Stafford, age 78, of Sedan, Kansas passed away Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan, Kansas. She was born November 8, 1928 to Loren Daniel and Blanche (Robinson) Lamb. She attended school in Sedan until the eleventh grade. On March 20, 1957, she married Irven Stafford in Sedan. They lived in the Sedan and Chautauqua area all their life. She worked as a cook in several restaurants in Sedan until finally retiring from Jimmy's Donut Shop in 1990. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 10, 1981. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sedan. She loved to dance in her younger years, and loved to sew, play bingo, read, and search word puzzles. She is survived by a two sons, Mickey (Mick) Lamb of Arkansas City, Kansas; John W. Stafford of Riverside, California, and one daughter Pat Stafford of Sedan, Kansas; one sister, Cora Marshall of Riverside, California; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, three brothers, and five sisters. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday November 6, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Sedan with Reverend J. Dean McNamara officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan. Friends may call on Monday, November 5, 2007 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan. The family has suggested memorials to the Pleasant Valley Manor Activity Fund and can be left with the funeral home.
