Obituary of Daniel R. White

Daniel Ray White, 50, of Lenapah, OK passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident at the Port of Catoosa, OK. He was born September 25, 1963, at Coffeyville to Billy and Patricia (Vaughn) White. Danny grew up in rural Coffeyville where he attended Clymore Grade School, and graduated from Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College. On November 17, 1984 he married Iris Wright at Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville before moving to Lenapah. Danny was employed at Coffeyville Re-con, Funk Mfg., IBP, Aptus, and Dixons, and for the last 17 years he was a truck driver and partner in Hills Trucking Co. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Danny looked forward to spending time with his family especially his granddaughters, Kara and Kaylyn. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, especially with his wife Iris, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting guns with his sons. He was an avid KU and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Danny also enjoyed sampling new beers and cigars, hitting golf balls at trains, and organized the annual family canoe trip for the past 14 years. Survivors include his wife, Iris Merle White of the home; two sons, Wesley Steven White of South Coffeyville, OK, and Jason Edward White of Coffeyville; his father, Billy C. White of rural Liberty; his step-father, Jim Hills of Lenapah, OK; four brothers, William "Billy" White of Lenapah, OK, Doug White of Wyandotte, OK, Norman Hills of Edna, KS, and Leon Hills of Coffeyville; two sisters, Susan Newman of Coffeyville, and Michelle Hills-McWhirt of South Coffeyville, OK; and two granddaughters, Kara Zorn, and Kaylyn White. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Hills; two sisters, Judy Hill, and Gail Bohr; one nephew, Cody White; and grandparents, Clyde and Grace White, Ray Vaughn, C.P. and Marie Vaughn-Green, and Raymon and Marguerite Hills. A Rosary Vigil Service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Chad Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to a fund for his grandkids established at Community State Bank; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
