Hal C. Neifing, age 92, of Moore, Oklahoma, formerly of Coffeyville died Friday morning, August 15th, 2014 at Norman Regional Medical Center in Norman, Oklahoma following complications from pneumonia. Hal Neifing was born June 17, 1922 in Wichita, Kansas to Hal F. and Mabel (Grandy) Neifing, the second of 3 children. He attended Wichita Schools and graduated from Wichita East High School. He then entered the US Navy during World War II as a Pharmacists Mate, 2nd Class. He later met Jacqueline N. Spring and they were married October 12, 1947 at the First United Methodist Church in Wichita, Kansas. They moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 1951 and Hal went to work for International Harvester. In 1956 they moved back to Wichita, Kansas where he started a career in Banking. In 1967, he moved his family to Coffeyville, Kansas where he joined Coke Harlow in opening Coffeyville State Bank and became Vice-President and then later President. He later joined Condon National Bank and then retired from banking. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Hal and Jacqueline were active members of the church and deeply devoted to their faith. Hal was a member of the Coffeyville Fair and Rodeo Board. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Jackie Neifing. He is survived by his three children, daughter, Karen Adams of Seattle, Washington and sons Marc Neifing of Moore, Oklahoma and Steve (Deanna) Neifing of Bella Vista, Arkansas. His grandchildren Jeff Adams and Maya Adams of Seattle, Washington; Keri (Brian) Warren and Tyler, Ashley and Evelyn of Yukon, Oklahoma; Kris (Carrie) Neifing and Masen of Edmond, Oklahoma; Korbey (Jerran) Neifing and West, Parker of Midland, Texas; Megan (Josh) Powell and Emma of Bentonville, Arkansas; Lauran (Brad) Owens of Coffeyville, Kansas. He is also survived by his sister Virginia Hirning of Florida. Hal is preceded in death by his father Hal F. Neifing, mother Mabel (Grandy) Neifing and his brother Ed Neifing. A private family viewing was held Monday August 18, Moore, Oklahoma. Internment of ashes and graveside services will be held in Coffeyville, Kansas on Saturday Sept. 13, 2014 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the "Wounded Warrior Project"; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
