Wilma Elaine (Banning) Rogers Emerson was born on October 22, 1916, to Arah and James M. Banning near Wauneta, Kansas. She entered her eternal rest, September 7, 2014 at Riverview Manor in Oxford, Kansas.
She attended school at Summit School in Chautauqua County and worked in several private homes.
She was baptized at the Church of Christ in Cedar Vale, Kansas in 1931. She and Edwin Robert Rogers were married in 1936; he later passed away in 1989. They were later divorced. She married Neal Emerson in 1983. He preceded her in death. She also was a member of the Pickers and Fiddlers Association where she participated in many events.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the Church of Christ in Cedar Vale, Kansas. Visitation is from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas.
Survivors include her sons; Robert Rogers and wife Connie, Ronald L. and wife Wah-Leeta Rogers, and David L. Rogers; Granddaughters, Robin Rogers Wallis, and Amy Rogers Driskill; Great-grandchildren, Riley and Rhett Wallis, Dax and Dawson Driskill; niece, Betty Lucille Oliver; step-grandchildren; Terry Gray, Scott Gray, and Michelle Gray.
Memorials are suggested to the Cedar Vale Church of Christ or the Chautauqua County 4-H Scholarship Fund. Those remembrances may be left in care of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, Sedan, Kansas,
