Graveside Services for Mary Ella Watters of Nowata, a retired business owner, will be conducted on Friday, October 24, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at Restlawn Cemetery, Coffeyville, KS. She was born in Oxford Arkansas on March 23, 1935 to William Oscar Davis and Arra Nannie (Wayland) Davis. She died on October 18, 2014 in Bartlesville. She graduated from Oxford High School where she was a star Basketball player. On July 6, 1954, she married Thomas J. Watters, Sr. in Oxford Arkansas. They moved to Nowata, OK in 1969 from Comstock Texas. Mrs. Watters was co-owner with her husband of several businesses across the United States. They owned the Lazy W Drive In-Café, Trailer Park and Service Station in Comstock, Texas. In Nowata they owned the Lazy W Car Sales and Lazy W. Mobile Home Sales. Mrs. Watters continued the family business, after the death of her husband, The Lazy W RV Sales in Yuma Arizona. Mrs. Watters loved to winter in Yuma and be with her many friends but was always happy to come back home to Nowata. Mrs. Watters was a member of the Coffeyville Church of Christ in Coffeyville Kansas. Mrs. Watters loved spending time with her grandchildren, Kevin and Lacey Carter, Oklahoma City, Nathan and Abby Carter, Carthage, MO, Brandon and Skyler Watters, Nowata, OK and BJ Watters, Nowata, OK She is survived by her daughter, Ella Carter and husband Bobby, a son Thomas Watters, six great grandchildren, Drew, Max, Nolan, Jaycee, Paisleigh and Gentrie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 sisters Clela Garner, Mildred Sherrell, Flora Yancey, Verdelma Whiteaker, Brother Thera L. Davis and infant brother, one son, Billy Watters, and one grandson Shawn O'Riley.
