Obituary of Almeda Lucille Life

Almeda Lucille Life, age 94, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma (formerly of Sedan), passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the Heritage Villa Nursing Center in Bartlersville. She was born on December 5, 1919 to Charles M. Stenson and Willie Paden (Cochran) Stenson. She grew up and graduated high school in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. On January 6, 1941 she married Howard Life in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. In 1941 they moved to Haysville, Kansas where Lucile worked for the USPS. She worked from 1944 until she retired in 1984. They later moved to Wichita, Kansas before moving to Sedan in 1989. Lucille lived in Sedan until moving to Bartlesville in 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard W. Life on April 4, 2010. Lucille was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sedan and was also a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived one daughter, Judy J. Mollenkamp and husband Gayle of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; one sister, Joetta Odom of Richardson, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, two sisters, and her parents. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Sedan with Reverend Jerry Bever officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens (1806 N. Oliver, Wichita, KS 67208). Family and friends may call on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan. The family has suggested memorials to the First United Methodist Church and they may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
