Obituary of William Ira Branham Sr.

William Ira Branham Sr., age 88, of Sedan passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at his home in Sedan. He was born on November 12 1926 to Earl Branham and Mary (Campbell) Branham in Indianapolis, Indiana. He grew up and lived in Ohio most of his childhood. On September 10, 1949 he married Ann Spears in Dayton Ohio. They lived in the Denver Colorado area for many years where Bill worked for C.A. Norgren as a machinist before retiring in 1985. They moved to Sedan on April 11, 2003. Bill was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Sedan. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, horseshoes, and Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. He is survived by his wife Ann Branham of the home in Sedan, Kansas; three daughters, Kathleen Garringer of Dayton, Ohio, Marilyn Hemperly of Pocatello, Idaho, and Jenny Berry of Sedan, Kansas; one son, William Ira “Bill” Branham Jr. of Sedan, Kansas; seventeen grandchildren, thirty one great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, one daughter, twelve brothers and sisters, and his parents. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan. Cremation will follow and a private inurnment will be held at a later date at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan. The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and they may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
