Ramona Mae Bishop, 85, of Coffeyville passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014, at her home. She was born February 3, 1929, at Dearing, KS to Frank W. and Pauline E. (Evans) Wood. Ramona grew up in Dearing, receiving her elementary education at Dearing Grade School, and graduated from Field Kindley High School and received an Associate Degree from Coffeyville Junior College. On November 17, 1949, she married Jackie Ted Bishop at Miami, OK. Following their marriage they made their home in the Coffeyville area where they raised their family. Ramona worked at the Parsons Ammunition Plant in Parsons and Electra in Independence. She was a longtime active member of TOPS, loved to read spending many hours at the Coffeyville Public Library, but most of all loved spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons, Bill Bishop and wife Marcia of Kansas City, MO, and Brian Bishop and wife Toni of Olathe, KS; one daughter, Linda Green and husband Dale of Coffeyville; ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and eleven brothers and sisters. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville with Dr. J. Dean McNamara officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
