Obituary of Merle Richard Wing

Merle Richard Wing, age 73, died Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville Oklahoma. Merle was born July 30, 1941 in Neodesha, Kansas to Carl William Wing and Dorothy Arlene (Bell) Wing. Merle graduated from Fredonia High School in 1959. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army serving his country before being honorably discharged. Merle moved to Coffeyville, Kansas in the early 1960's where he worked as a courier for Condon National Bank and later Community State Bank in Coffeyville. Merle attended the United Methodist Church in Fredonia growing up; he loved to ride around with his brother in the golf cart, watch Little League baseball on television, watch football and basketball and he loved his dogs. Merle is survived by one sister; Myrna Lanning of Coffeyville Kansas; one brother, Ronald Wing and wife Zelda of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews. Merle was preceded in death by one sister LaVonne Roll and his parents. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville Kansas with Pastor Doug Mund of Grace Fellowship officiating. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be sent to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association and can be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville Kansas 67337.
