Diane Lucille Birt, age 60, of Cumberland Furnace, TN went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday morning, December 11, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. Born Nov 24, 1954 in Coffeyville, KS, she is survived by her parents, Stanley and Charlotte Cooper of Welch, OK; husband, Joseph Birt; daughter Alisha and husband, Michael Schuchman, of Villa Rica, GA., daughter Rebecca Birt of Cumberland Furnace, TN; granddaughters Lexi and Olivia Schuchman of Villa Rica, GA; Brothers Richard Cooper, of Edna, KS; David Cooper and wife Geri of Welch, OK; Ronald Cooper and wife Carol of Oklahoma City, OK; Tom Cooper and wife Marty of Neodesha, KS; sister Beth Rogers and husband Terry of Dewey, OK; and many nieces and nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Cooper, her daughter, Shawna Renee Birt, and her son, James Lloyd Birt. A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 12:00 noon at the Elm Grove/North Edna Cemetery in Edna, Kansas. Flowers may be sent to the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, and memorial donations may be made to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306, North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337. "Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God." Matthew 5:9
