Obituary of Leland Dale White

Leland Dale White Leland Dale White was born March 24, 1929, to Ralph L. (Boots) and Louie V. (Barnett) White in the Moore Prairie area, West of Sedan, Kansas. He attended school at Moore Prairie School. He worked in farming, ranching, and rock laying with his father, and also in the oil field until taking over the farming and ranching. He married Hazel Bever on May 20, 1956 at Hewins, Kansas. They lived all their married lives where he was born on Moore Prairie. He is survived by his wife Hazel White of the home; three daughters, Darla Ferguson of Pond Creek, Oklahoma, Anita and Jeff Vignapiano of Sedan, Kansas, and Carmen and Shawn Roberts of Sedan, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Dale Boswell and Douglas Boswell of Sedan, Kansas, CaraLee Boswell of Newkirk, Oklahoma, Jenna Lee Boswell of Onaga, Kansas, Jancy (Camblin) Martin of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Carson Ferguson of Pond Creek, Oklahoma, Heather (Jeremy) Hunsucker of Independence, Kansas, Cameron (Willie) Wilkinson of Cherryvale, Kansas, and Kirsten Roberts of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; six great-grandchildren, Camden Tate, Natalee Tate, Lisbon Martin, Prentiss Martin, Skarlet Martin, and Devyn Reece Wilkinson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Sedan with Reverend Jerry Bever officiating. Burial will follow at the Moore Prairie Cemetery west of Sedan. Family and friends may call on Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the First United Methodist Church in Sedan. The family has requested memorials to the Wauneta United Methodist Church or the Sedan First United Methodist Church and can be left in care of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
