Jerry Dean Watson, 77, of Coffeyville, Kansas went to be with his savior on Monday, January 5, 2015 at his home. Jerry was born on November 14, 1937 to Walter LeRoy and Dona (Brown) Watson in Parsons, Kansas. His family moved to Coffeyville when he was a young boy, where he attended school. He graduated from both Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College. He married Diane C. Baker on September 15, 1973. Jerry was a member of First Baptist Church in Coffeyville and Keystone Masonic Lodge 102. He served as past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star Chapter 112. He was also a member of the National Jr. College Championship football team with the CCC Red Ravens in 1956. He worked at the Coffeyville Fire Department. He also worked at Union Pacific Railroad, where he retired from after thirty years. Jerry enjoyed mowing lawns and sitting on the porch telling stories and jokes. He was known for his warm smiles and ability to make others laugh. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Raymond Watson and one sister, Mary Davidson. He is survived by his wife, Diane, son, Randy Watson and wife, Debbie of McPherson, Kansas, daughters, Vikki Watson of Leawood, Kansas, Paulette Eichman and husband Matt of Fulton, Missouri, step-daughter Destri Fournier and husband, Michael of Crockett, California and step-son, Rick Santos of Tripp, South Dakota, and his sister Doris Swain of Blackwell, Oklahoma and ten grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville, Kansas with Dr. J. Dean McNamara officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Harry Hynes Hospice or First Baptist Church and can be left at the funeral home or can be mailed to the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Road, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
