Marian Ruth Nelson, 91, of Coffeyville, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Windsor Place.
She was born November 29, 1921 at Albuquerque, New Mexico to Lemuel Alfred and Maggie Mae (Silvey) Gardner. Marian grew up and attended school in Wathena, KS, graduating from Wathena High School.
On March 11, 1943, she married William Nelson at St. Joseph, Missouri. Following their marriage they made their home in Miami, Florida for many years. Her husband preceded her in death on June 7, 1997.
Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker and attended the Baptist Church.
Survivors include a great-niece and a great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Edward Nelson and Fredrick Nelson, three brothers, and three sisters.
Following Marian's wishes cremation has taken place and a Graveside Memorial Service celebrating her life will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville, with Chaplain Mike Graham of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice officiating.
