Raymond L. Wilson, 89, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, passed away at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Raymond was born August 19, 1925 to David S. and Myrtle E (Lovelace) Wilson in Niotaze, Kansas. He attended Field Kindley High School. In May of 1944, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He spent seven years before being honorably discharges in April of 1952. March 2, 1950, Raymond married Virginia L. Fishburn in Tyro, Kansas. They had three children. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 1201, a member of the American Legion, numerous saddle clubs and coon hunting clubs. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded by seven brothers and three sisters. Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Virginia, two daughters, Lula Bell Rains and her husband, Will, Kathy L. Sharp and her husband, Raymond and one son, Tom Wilson and his wife, Deb, seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. A memorial service will take place at the Cowboy Capital Fellowship in Lenapah, Oklahoma, Tuesday January 13 at 2:00 p.m. with Justin McKee officiating. The family has suggested memorials be made to the Disabled Veterans Association or the Cowboy Capital Fellowship and can be left at the fellowship hall or mailed to the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Road, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
