April Diane Crump, 49, of Peru, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at her home in Peru, Kansas.
She was born on April 7, 1965 in Sedan, Kansas to Loren Wellner amd Velma L. (McCormac) Wellner. She grew up and attended school in Madison, Kansas graduating in the class of 1983. She moved to Sedan in the late 1980’s making her home in Sedan and Howard for several years before moving to Peru in 2004.
She graduated with her associate’s degree from Independence Community College. She worked for Class LTD as a job coach for the last ten years.
April joined the Open Door Fellowship Church in 2010 and was baptized on October 5, 2011 and was an active member of the church. She also enjoyed puzzles, reading, sewing, crafts, and spending time with her family. She also loved her church family.
She is survived by her companion; Henry Gywn of Peru, Kansas; one brother, Carl Wellner and wife Tamara of Girard, Kansas; one sister, Cindy Alberts and husband Billy of Moline, Kansas; three aunts; Viola Darnall, Mary Van Royen, and Nadine Ratcliff; five nieces, Melinda Joseph of El Dorado, Kansas, Cassandra Bosley of Fort Scott, Kansas, Kelsey Fox of Pittsburg, Kansas, Barbara Wellner of Girard, Kansas and Tori Wylie of Wichita, Kansas; one nephew, Kyle Wellner of Independence, Kansas; six great-nieces and nephews, Keeyton Fox, Kendall Bosley, Zachary Joseph, Alexandria Joseph, Noah Joseph, and MaKelty Joseph.
She was preceded in death by one brother, William Wellner, her parents, and one great-niece Kaibryn Joseph.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Sedan with Pastor Mike Bush of the Open Door Fellowship Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Tyro, Kansas.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 12, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the First Baptist Church in Sedan.
The family has requested memorials to the Open Door Fellowship Church and may be left in care of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
