Obituary of Richard Whitson

Sedan - Richard Del Whitson, Sr., age 65, of Cedar Vale, Kansas passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at his residence in Cedar Vale, Kansas. He was born January 29, 1942 in Cherryvale, Kansas to Orville and Myrtle (Kross) Whitson. He grew up and attended school in Cherryvale. He married Fern Mae Burnhart and they later divorced. He was a truck driver for Austin Trucking for twenty-five years, retiring in 2005. He moved from Fredonia to Cedar Vale in 2005 after retirement. He is survived by three sons, Steve Whitson and his wife Glenna of Caney, Kansas, Lance Whitson of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Richard Del Whitson, Jr. of Independence, Kansas; one daughter, Katrina Evans of Ft. Collins, Colorado; one stepdaughter, Rhonda of Lawrence, Kansas; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
