Obituary of Ruth King

Ruth King, 88 of Coffeyville, Kansas, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Windsor Place.
She was born on December 16, 1926 to Henry Allen and Ijah Island (Amos) Wade in Cherryvale, Kansas. She lived in there until 1942 when she moved to Coffeyville. On October 30, 1948, she married William Kenneth King in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They had two children.
Ruth loved sewing, making clothes for both herself and her daughter. She also loved gardening. In her younger years, she liked to play softball and volleyball. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee Sylvester, Roy Richard and Donald and one sister Deloris.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth, son, Roger Wayne King of Bakersfield, California and daughter, Cherri Elaine Nesvold of Coffeyville, Kansas and six grandchildren, Dustin Kaufman, Samantha Marshall, Anel King, Roger King, Eric, King and Curt King.
Graveside services will be held Friday, January 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and can be left at the funeral home or mailed in care of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Road, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
