Obituary of Virginia Stout

Virginia Coleen Stout, 90, of Independence, Kansas passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Mercy Hospital.
Virginia was born January 26, 1925 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Frank and Hazel (Thompson) Ferguson. She grew up in Coffeyville, attending Coffeyville Schools.
On October 30, 1942 she married Richard "Doc" Stout at Coffeyville, Kansas. Following their marriage, they made their home in Coffeyville until 1964, when they relocated to Texarkana, Arkansas due to Doc's job. Upon his retirement, they moved back to Kansas, residing in Elk City until 2005. They then moved to Independence.
Virginia attended the Nazarene Church. She loved spending time with her family, fishing, camping, crafts and crocheting. She also enjoyed bowling, where she was a member of quite a few different leagues.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters , two brothers and her loving husband, Doc, in 2008.
She is survived by her three daughters Anita Baker and Diana Lesslie both of Independence Kansas and Sybil Blue of Anchorage, Alaska; three sisters, Velma Pippin of Coffeyville, Martha Runyon of Tyro, Kansas and Karen Johnson of Independence; six grandchildren, Tammie Doub, Tim Baker, Kevin Lesslie, Shelly Lesslie, Courtney Taylor and Clifton Blue and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Monday, February 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas with Pastor Bob Leonard officiating.
