Gerald Lee "Jerry" Holt, Sr., 62, of rural Wann, OK, passed away Sunday night (September 30, 2007) at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
He was born November 21, 1944, at Springfield, MO, to Marcus Lee "Dick" and Thelma (Hilton) Holt. The family moved to South Coffeyville when he was young where he grew up and attended elementary school, and graduated from Lenapah High School.
On June 3, 1961 he married Carolyn Wheeler at Independence, KS. Following their marriage they made their home in the Coffeyville, South Coffeyville and Wann area where Jerry owned and operated Holt Electric Company in Coffeyville for many years.
He attended the South Coffeyville First Baptist Church, and was a member of the South Coffeyville Lions Club, he was also a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #226 for 45 years.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of the home; one son Lee (Chris) Holt of rural South Coffeyville, one daughter, Anita Holt of South Coffeyville; his mother Thelma Holt of Grand Lake, OK; one sister, Kathy (Rick) Hoffman of Sand Springs, OK; one brother, Mark (Linda) Holt of Katy, TX; and three grandchildren, Tara Holt, and Josh Holt of rural South Coffeyville and Faith Graue of South Coffeyville. He was preceded in death by his father, one infant brother and one infant sister.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 3, 2007) in Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Weldon Foster officiating
Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
