Frank "Hank" Pfister, 87, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at his home. Hank was born on August 26, 1927 to John and Hazel (Pister) Morgan in Coffeyville, Kansas. He grew up in Coffeyville. After the death of his mother, he was adopted by his aunt and uncle, Stafford and Myrle Pfister. He attended Holy Name Catholic School and Field Kindley High School. At the age 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in both the South Pacific and the North Atlantic. After his honorable discharge, he returned to school, where he played football and basketball. In 1949, he met Donna Fields. They were married in Bentonville, Arkansas. Following their marriage they made their home in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. Hank retired in 1991 from the maintenance department of what was formerly known as Aptus. He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, one brother, and his beloved son Frank, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna, of the home, daughter Debra (Pfister) Marvell of Clarkridge, Arkansas, and Karen Pfister of South Coffeyville, four grandsons, Hudd and Lisa Pfister, Josh and Cyndi Pfister of South Coffeyville, Gib and Donna English, and Hank and Patricia English, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside memorial service, 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas with Father Chad Arnold officiating. Military Rites will be provided by V.F.W. Post #1022 and American Legion Post #20. A Rosary Vigil Service will be 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Holy Name Catholic Church. Friends may call at the funeral home to sign the book, Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial contribution be made to Holy Name Catholic Church and may be left at the funeral home or can be mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Road, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
