Eldon Wendell Catron, age 72, of Cedar Vale, Kansas, passed away, Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Sedan City Hospital in Sedan. Eldon was born on April 8, 1942 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Henry Catron and Martha (Pickard) Catron. He attended and graduated from Stilwell, Oklahoma High School in the class of 1961. He was a member of the Cherokee Indian Nation. On February 10, 1979 he married Ramona Cox in Cedar Vale, Kansas. He worked at the Cedar Vale rock quarry for many years and also worked for the Chautauqua County Road and Bridge Department for twenty two years before retiring in 2005. Eldon also was a member of the Army National Guard for many years. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting, camping, fishing, and most importantly loved all of his family. He is survived by his wife; Ramona Catron of the home in Cedar Vale, Kansas, three sons, Timothy Catron and wife Melinda of Dewey, Oklahoma, Chad Catron of Cedar Vale, Kansas, Heath Jarboe and wife Josie of Cedar Vale, Kansas, three daughters, Kristina Snider of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rachelle Marlar and husband Tony of Cedar Vale, Kansas, and Krystal Williams of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one sister; Marilyn Amy of Dallas, Texas; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents. Church Services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cedar Vale, Kansas with Reverend Mark Davis of the First Baptist Church of Sedan officiating. Family and friends may call on Monday, March 30, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the First Baptist Church in Cedar Vale, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the DaVita Renal Treatment Center of Winfield and remembrances may be left in care of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
