Phyllis Ann Hoffman, 84, formerly of South Coffeyville, OK, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the Higher Call Nursing Center in Quapaw, OK. She was born December 27, 1930, at Coffeyville, KS to Claude and Ethel (Brown) Stoker. Phyllis grew up and attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1948. On November 7, 1948, she married Harold "Bus" Hoffman at Coffeyville, KS. Following their marriage they made their home on their Dairy farm in rural South Coffeyville for many years before moving to South Coffeyville. They were married 51 years when her husband passed away in 2000. Besides helping her husband with the dairy farm, Phyllis managed the grill and gave bowling lessons at Sunflower Lanes for several years, she later worked at Acme Foundry for 19 years until retiring. Phyllis was an active member and volunteer at the First United Methodist Church in South Coffeyville, OK for many years. She enjoyed bowling and working with youth bowling leagues, and baking. But most of all she loved spending time with her family and keeping up with the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Rick Hoffman and wife Kathy of Tulsa, OK; one daughter, Sue Ann Hoffman of Stillwater, OK; three grandchildren, Rickey Hoffman and wife Kim of Tulsa, OK, Jenna Hoffman of Dallas, TX, Matt Hoffman and wife Stacey of Sand Springs, OK; and three great-grandchildren, , Lauren Hoffman, Anna Hoffman, and Brinlee Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, and one sister. Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Veterans Memorial Patio in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville with Pastor Mark Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the South Coffeyville First United Methodist Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
