Obituary of Dorothy A. Ameigh

Dorothy Ann Ameigh, 77, of Coffeyville, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She was born October 4, 1937, at Hempstead, New York, to Herman A. and Evalyn (Rowlands) Horn. She grew up and attended school in New York. In 1970 she married Jerry Donald Ameigh at Ardmore, OK. Following their marriage they lived in New York, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Indiana, and Kansas. Her husband preceded her in death on June 4, 2004. Dorothy was a member of Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and embroidery work, but most of all loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Ameigh of Coffeyville; one son, Jerry D. Ameigh, Jr. of Coffeyville; two step-sons, Jerry James Ameigh of Germany, and Dennis Lee Ameigh of Kansas; two step-daughters, Sandy Marie Loos of Germany, and Laverna Ruth Ameigh of Kansas; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister and two brothers. A Memorial Service celebrating Dorothy's life will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Central Baptist Church north of Coffeyville with Pastor Charles Pitts officiating. Following Dorothy's wishes cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register book on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
