Frances M. Harding, 95, of Coffeyville passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015, at her home. She was born March 7, 1920, on a farm southeast of Angola, KS to George and Anna (Johns) Banowetz. Frances grew up in rural Richland district where she graduated from 8th grade in a two room school house. She then graduated from Labette County Community High School in Altamont, and Parsons Business College in Parsons. After complete her education, she went to work for Parkersburg Rig and Reel Company which was the former OCS in Coffeyville in the accounting department. On August 15, 1945, she married Robert A. Harding in the Rectory at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. To this union two sons were born. Her husband preceded her in death on July 2, 2001. Frances was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, and Holy Name Altar Society. She enjoyed playing Ping Pong with the soldiers during the time the USO was in Coffeyville, she later taught her son and grandson to play. Frances enjoyed shopping, going to different lakes, staying in motels while on vacation with her husband and sons. She also enjoyed visiting her sister and family in Longmont, CO. Survivors include two sons, John A. Harding of rural Coffeyville, and Paul R. Harding and wife Janice of Wichita; two grandsons, two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Frank Banowetz and his wife Elizabeth, her sister Lorena Miller and her husband Harold, and daughter-in-law Marilyn Harding. A Rosary Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Holy Name Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2015 with Father Chad Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Thursday, May 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or Holy Name Catholic Church; contributions may be left at the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
