Obituary of Donna L. Rogers

Donna L. Rogers, 96, of Dearing, KS passed away July 6, 2015 in her home. Donna was born on April 7, 1919 in Cushing, OK to William and Willmer (Cleavenger) Conley. As a child, she lived in many different towns due to her father's job before becoming an over 60 plus year resident of Dearing. She married her true love, Herbert "Herb" Rogers in Girard, Kansas on February 22, 1941. They had 73 wonderful years before he passed away on September 4, 2014. They had 3 daughters. Donna had several different odd jobs, but most of her life, she spent as a homemaker. She loved doing crafts, but her favorite was painting with the ball point paints. She loved painting tea towels. She also made clothes for her daughters as they were growing up. She was a member of the Dearing Christian Church. In addition to her parents and her husband, Herb, she is also preceded in death by her daughter Dianna Jean Rogers. Survivors include her two daughters, Charlotte Sumner of Broken Arrow, OK and Jan Holtsclaw of rural Elk City, KS, and two sisters, Opal McCaslin of Pittsburg, KS and Ruth Ann Maple of Wichita, KS; five grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandsons. Graveside services will be3:00 pm. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville, KS with Pastor Jamie Regis of Dearing Christian Church officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Oklahoma School for the Blind; contributions may be left at the funeral home or mailed c/o the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N.
