Beryl A. Robinson, age 87, of Sedan, Kansas passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan, Kansas.
He was born September 1, 1920 in Moline, Kansas to E.E. and Myrta Marie (Cunningham) Robinson. He attended and graduated from Moline High School. On October 5, 1941 he married Norma Jean Copeland in Sedan, Kansas. In September of 1942, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served until he was honorable discharged in November of 1945. After his discharge from the Army, he started Robinson Tank Cleaning and also owned and operated oil leases until the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean in 2001. He was a lifelong resident of Chautauqua County.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #141 in Sedan, Kansas, and was a past member of the Sedan Country Club. He enjoyed playing golf and mowing his yard.
He is survived by one daughter, Rose Hutton of Sedan, Kansas, one brother, Bob Robinson of Baxter Springs, Kansas, one sister-in-law, Doris Robinson of Grove, Oklahoma, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren, and his companion, Margaret Townley of Sedan, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean, his son John, and one daughter Becky, his parents, one sister, and one brother.
Friends may sign the register book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Wednesday (June 2, 3, 4) at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home of Sedan, Kansas.
Cremation has taken place and there is no service scheduled at this time.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Sedan Flag Memorial and CRMC Radiation Therapy Building Project these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
