Helen Emily Wade, 77, of Coffeyville, KS passed away at her home Tuesday, July 7, 2015, after a lengthy illness. Helen was born October 14, 1937 in Tulsa, OK to Stephen Bailey and Mildred Margaret (Hill) Livingston. She graduated from high school in Mound City, Kansas in 1956. She went to Coffeyville Community College. On July 13, 1958, she married the love her life, John E. Wade. They moved to Emporia, KS, where she worked for the water department while John finished his education. After several moves, they made their home in Coffeyville where she went to work as an executive secretary at the refinery retiring in 2003. In her spare time, she liked to sew and do all kinds of crafts and enjoyed playing the organ. Occasionally, you could find her on the golf course, riding with John. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jamie (Jim) Livingston. She is survived by her husband John of the home, one son, John Stephen (Steve) of Coffeyville, two grandsons, Dylan and Dallas Rogers of South Coffeyville, OK, two nieces, Lisa Compston of South Coffeyville, OK and Laura Cox of Joplin, MO. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2015 at the First Baptist Church; burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may sign the book Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Harry Hynes Hospice, First Baptist Church or The Alzheimer's Association and can be left at the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
