Obituary of Roberta Anne Erickson

Roberta Anne Erickson, 58, of Coffeyville, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Windsor Place. She was born March 2, 1957, at Coffeyville to Robert M. and Mary Lou (Rader) Erickson. Anne grew up and attended school in Coffeyville, graduating from Field Kindley High School. She received her Bachelor and Masters Degree in English and Technical Writing from Pittsburg State University. For several years Anne lived in the Houston, TX area where she was employed as a Technical Writer at NASA. While with NASA she wrote several of the operation manuals for equipment on the space shuttles. She also taught at San Jacinto Community College. After returning to Coffeyville in 2008 she taught at Neosho County Community College, Coffeyville Community College, Pittsburg State University and Field Kindley High School. Ann was a active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where she was a member of Vestry. She enjoyed reading, and loved her Dachshunds' and spending time with her family. Survivors include one daughter, Maggie Skaakal and grandson, Fisher Skaakal of Frontenac, KS; her mother, Mary Lou Erickson of Coffeyville; two sisters, Dana Gary and husband Brent of Houston, TX, and Dr. Jennifer Hendrick and husband Dr. Jim of Ft. Collins, CO; nieces and nephews, Wendy Kovich and husband Matt of The Woodlands, TX, Robert Wyman of Pensacola, FL, Maya Hendrick and Cooper Hendrick both of Ft. Collins, CO; and great-nephews, Camryn and Cole Kovich of The Woodlands, TX. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 7, 2015 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Rev. Antoinette Tackkett officiating. Inurnment will be in The Chapel Of Resurrection Columbarium at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Friends may sign the register book on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to St. Paul's Episcopal Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
