Barbara Hoover, 94, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville. Barbara was born on November 2, 1920 in Cherryvale, Kansas to Maurice C. and Rachel Elizabeth (Nelson) Metcalf. She attended Cherryvale schools and Coffeyville Business College. She retired in December 1986, after working 32 years at Parmac Inc. At the time of her retirement, she was a buyer for the company. Prior to going to work for Parmac Inc. she worked at J.C. Penny and Union Gas Company in Coffeyville. In March of 1994, she went to work part time at Acme Foundry in the Human Resources and Purchasing Department On January 1, 1940 she married Dale Hoover in Nowata, Oklahoma. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in January 1990. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1991. She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon. She was a Pink Lady at CRMC and a member of the Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a member of Hospice and The American Legion Auxiliary. Barbara loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Kay Woollard; three grandchildren, Brenda Pursley and husband, Ron of Coffeyville, Kansas, Brian Noble and wife, Linda of Bartlett, Kansas, Brad Noble and wife, Shannon of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren Shelby Noble and fiancé Brock Volmerof Altamont, Kansas, Rowdy Noble of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; one great great grandchild Delaney Volmer of Altamont, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Gene Woollard, two brothers and six sisters. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at The First Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville. Pastor Diane Massey will officiate. Burial will follow at Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett, Kansas. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at David W. Barnes Funeral Home. The family will greet friends on Sunday at the funeral home from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
