Virginia Bossman Hoppock, 94, formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Integris Grove Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma. Virginia was born on November 17, 1920 in Knowles, Oklahoma to Clyde and Bertha (Brunner) Smothermon. She graduated from Tyro High School in 1939. On December 23, 1941 she married Harold Bossman. He lived around Coffeyville all of his life. The couple later divorced in 1968. In 1968 Virginia went to work for Neil Todd for five years. Then in 1973 she began working in Automotive Control in Independence, Kansas until her retirement in 1986. On April 14, 1980 she married Kenneth Hoppock, he preceded her in death in 1985. Survivors include her two sons, Clyde Bossman of Afton, Oklahoma, Kevin Bossman of Hannibal, Missouri; daughter, Connie Tipton of Coffeyville, Kansas; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Clydeen McFerran of Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; a daughter, Coleen Bossman; and by her brothers and sisters. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2015, at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas. Friends may call on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
