Obituary of Agatha Agnes Edwards

Agatha Agnes Edwards, 66, of Coffeyville passed away Thursday, October 30, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was born March 22, 1949, at Independence, KS to Fred and Irys (Painter) Foster. Agatha grew up and attended school in Elk City, KS graduating from Elk City High School in 1967. She then attended Independence Beauty College and became a licensed beautician. On November 14, 1970, she married Donald E. Edwards at Independence. Following their marriage they made their home in Independence and later Miami, OK, until moving to Coffeyville in 1975. After moving to Coffeyville she worked at Calvert's Men's Wear in Independence and in food service at Independence School District, she later worked in Home Health Care. Agatha was a member Grace Fellowship, belonged to a bowling league for several years, and enjoyed gardening and working with animals. Survivors include her husband, Donald E. Edwards of the home; one son, Don Edwards of Coffeyville; one daughter, Cheryl Arnold of Lochart, TX; two step-daughters, Sandy Hachinski of Ozawkie, KS, and Pam Williams of Gault, CA; one step-son, Ronald Edwards of Wichita; one brother, Glenn Foster and wife Trudy of Uvalde, TX; one sister, Harriet Haymaker and husband Jerry of Copan, OK; two grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Earl Foster, and Jimmie Foster; and three sisters, Belva McKenzie, Dora Nelson, and Dene Phelps. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at Grace Fellowship in Coffeyville with Pastor Doug Mund officiating. Burial will be in the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville. Friends may call on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
