Obituary of Elizabeth Brookover

Elizabeth "Betti" (Reed) Brookover was born in 1955. Her parents, Harold Sr. and Edna Reed, raised Elizabeth and her siblings, Harold Jr. and Tracy, in Peru, Kansas. Elizabeth graduated from Sedan High School in 1973 and went on to Coffeyville Community College and then Pittsburg State University where she earned a B.S. in Education and later a Masters Degree in Education and Certificate of Library Science. Elizabeth married Craig Brookover in 1978 in Coffeyville, KS. Together they had one daughter, Abby Brookover. Elizabeth was involved in education for over 30 years. Craig and Elizabeth moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2002 where she worked throughout the Clark County School District. She had recently retired and moved back to Coffeyville. Elizabeth loved her family and looked forward to having the family together whenever possible. She loved crafts, sporting events, and traveling. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville and a member of the Midland Theater Foundation. Elizabeth is survived by Craig (Las Vegas), daughter Abby Brookover and fiancé Gary Lisowski (Denver, CO), mother Edna Reed (Peru, KS), sister Tracy (Reed) Frickey (Arvada, CO), and nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her father Harold Reed Sr. and brother Harold Reed Jr. Services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 31st at the First Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Diane Massey officiating. Arrangements are being handled by David W. Barnes Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in her name at the Midland Theater Foundation or to the First Presbyterian Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
