Obituary of Jackey D. Lane

Jack D. Lane, 80, of Coffeyville passed away peacefully at his home, on Monday, January 11, 2016. He was born November 28, 1935, at Galena, KS to Harold and Gladys Lane. When he was young his family moved to California where he grew up attending school in Sunnyvale and Barstow. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He married Floretta Holiday in 1957, together they had four children. She preceded him in death after 30 years of marriage. He later married Mary Sue (Collins) Oldham. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. She preceded him in death after 20 years of marriage. Jack worked for Phillips Petroleum in California and later at Glenpool, OK and Perry, OK until retiring. He attended Emmanuel Chapel and Southview Church of God in South Coffeyville, OK, and the last several years he attended Lewark Church of God in Coffeyville. Jack enjoyed drawing and driving around checking on his friends, but most of all loved spending time with his family. Survivors include three sons, Mike Lane, Mark Lane and Rick Lane; one daughter, Shawna Kelley; two step-sons, Bob Oldham and Kelly Oldham; five step-daughters, Debbie Gaither, Vicky Ashmore, Tracy Jackson, Pamela Bouknight, and Rhonda Grossi; and enough grandchildren to fill his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Floretta and Mary Sue; and one brother Gene Lane. A service Celebrating Jack's life will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2015, at Lewark Church of God with Pastor Greg Hatchett officiating. Friends may call on Friday, January 15, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
